Why We Gather

At Hill Country Yoga Studio, our vision is simple and steady: to create a grounding space in the heart of the Hill Country where individuals gather for movement, breath, and connection to cultivate alignment between body and mind.

As we build our permanent studio in Wimberley, we’re currently hosting pop-up classes throughout the community - bringing yoga to the places where our neighbors already live, move, and gather.

Our offerings include vinyasa, restorative, and gentle yoga, each designed to support presence, ease, and mindful movement.  Whether you’re stepping onto the mat for the very first time or you’ve been practicing for years, our classes are intentionally crafted to be welcoming to all levels.

We’re here to grow a yoga community that feels authentic to Wimberley - warm, grounded, and connected - and we’re grateful to share this journey with you.

Christine

Christine was born in Austin and raised in the heart of Hays County. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in mathematics, she built a successful 15‑year career in oil trading in Houston. During those fast‑paced years, yoga became her anchor — a way to steady her mind, reconnect with her body, and find clarity in the midst of intensity.

As her personal practice deepened, so did her desire to share the grounding, transformative benefits of yoga with others. Teaching became a natural extension of what she loved most about the practice: its ability to strengthen, soften, and restore. Christine is trained in vinyasa, yin and meditation, blending mindful movement with intentional stillness to support both physical and mental well‑being.

A mother of two, Christine eventually returned to the Hill Country with her husband and children, drawn back to the community and landscape that shaped her early years. Her classes offer a welcoming, down‑to‑earth space where students of all levels can move with curiosity, breathe with intention, and reconnect with themselves. She hopes her students leave feeling empowered, calm, and refreshed — carrying a sense of ease into the rest of their day.

Christine is grateful to be building a yoga home in Wimberley and looks forward to creating a space rooted in connection, presence, and the simple joy of moving and breathing together.

Debbie

Debbie is a native Oklahoman who, alongside her European husband Robert, raised four sons with  love, compassion, and a deep sense of family. Her lifelong career has been rooted in education - serving through substitute teaching, mentoring, and supporting at-risk families and students by providing encouragement, resources, clothing, shoes, and a caring presence during difficult times.

Outside of work, Debbie finds joy in gardening, the ocean, pickleball, meaningful time with girlfriends, and riding through the beautiful Texas Hill Country in her husband’s Jeep with the top down. Another one of her greatest passions is yoga.

Debbie’s love for yoga  has been a lifelong journey that naturally evolved into teaching others. In 2021, she became certified to share the beauty and healing benefits of yoga, breathwork, and mindfulness of slowing down, reconnecting within, and caring for both body and mind.

With empathy, warmth, and compassion at the heart of her teaching, Debbie is passionate about welcoming beginners, those who may feel intimidated by yoga, and anyone who believes yoga is “not for them.” She hopes to create a safe, encouraging environment where students feel seen, supported, and empowered in their journey. Debbie is excited to embrace the Wimberley community and build a space filled with connection, wellness, and lifelong lovers of yoga.

Co-Founder/Teacher

Cassandra

Born in Houston and shaped by her upbringing in the small town of Montgomery, Texas, Cassandra is a multifaceted human with a deep love for community, nature, and meaningful connection. She studied Radio-TV-Film at Texas Christian University and spent much of her twenties pursuing a creative path before eventually following another calling — yoga.

After moving to San Antonio, Cassandra founded Mobile Om Yoga in 2013 with the mission of making yoga more accessible, welcoming, and community-centered. What began as a single class on the Hays Street Bridge has grown into a beloved movement offering community classes, retreats, trainings, and events throughout San Antonio and beyond.

With 17 years of teaching experience, Cassandra’s classes blend yoga philosophy, mindful movement, breathwork, meditation, and real-world application in a way that feels grounding, soulful, and approachable for all levels. She is less interested in “humans doing yoga” and more passionate about “humans being yoga” — embodying the practice both on and off the mat with greater presence, compassion, and authenticity.

Outside of teaching, Cassandra is pursuing her graduate degree in counseling and hopes to integrate yoga, mindfulness, and somatic practices into her future therapy work. She loves hiking, paddle boarding, traveling, and spending time in nature with her two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Charley and Abi, who are currently training through the Texas State Animal Assisted Counseling Academy to eventually work alongside her in practice.

Whether teaching under the stars, beside a river, or inside a studio, Cassandra’s intention is always the same: to help people feel more connected — to themselves, to each other, and to the world around them.
